Duluth Downtown Seasonal and Event Traffic Count
The Greater Downtown Council in Duluth commissioned the 1998 Downtown Pedestrian Traffic Count. Volume measurements at key points in the downtown skyway and sidewalk pedestrian system were measured during a non-event week in the summer and in the peak (indoor/skyway) traffic period of the winter holiday shopping season. This data was used for a retail recruitment program.

A special traffic count was conducted during a large, annual summertime event sited one-half mile from the downtown retail core. This study documented how much visitor traffic was attracted to downtown stores during the event.
